I just returned from The Special Event (TSE) in Phoenix where ISES International sponsored a full day of advanced training for all board members. With an impressive total of eight members in attendance, the ISES LA Board demonstrated its dedication to shaping our chapter into one of the most responsive, impactful and premier associations for event professionals in the Los Angeles area.
The training featured an emphasis on the fundamentals of making an ISES Chapter function at its best. In addition to taking part in an open exchange of ideas and strategies, our board made meaningful connections with chapter members from all over the nation as well as Australia, the UK and Asia.
Prior to training alongside ISES leaders at TSE, the ISES LA Board participated in a retreat which focused on chapter best practices, program planning and board member roles and responsibilities. In accordance, our board is now “complete”…no vacancies. It is my pleasure to welcome Jennifer Minzey of Simply Mumtaz Events, Leonard Neil of Leonard Neil Productions, Nahchey Storer of Dash Entertainment and Kelly Wynn of Pitzer College to the ISES LA Board. I would like to extend a special THANK YOU for stepping up and making a commitment to ISES, our chapter’s Board, membership and the event industry of Southern California.
With an eye towards maximizing our potential in 2011, your ISES LA Board is currently finalizing the remainder of the year’s schedule and planning programs to educate, promote and connect professionals in the industry and generate business for all members. Upcoming highlights include a special, industry-wide event this spring (more details to follow) and the annual ISES LA JAM scheduled for September 20. ISES LA is currently recruiting JAM committee members; don’t miss this special opportunity to get involved!
