“I am a drummer!” chanted Emeka, to which the ISES LA Power Breakfast attendees loudly echoed back, “I am a drummer!” Emeka later added, “Now you can say without a doubt, I felt my neighbors drum, and it was goooood!”
January’s Power Breakfast was an absolute hit! Held at The Mark for Events, located at 9320 W Pico Blvd in Los Angeles, the Power Breakfast included ISES LA’s signature Breakfast Networking Hour with some of Los Angeles’ most versatile and talented Event Industry professionals, an array of savory breakfast dishes catered by The Mark’s in-house catering and a heart-pumping, rousing interpretation of “collaboration through rhythm” presented by Drum Café’s trio of percussionists: Emeka Simons, Dramane Kone and Andrew Acquista.
The ISES LA Power Breakfast was hosted by the Mark for Events, LA’s newest, full-service venue and event space which boasts a versatile, stylish and convenient space (with 3 rooms!) that holds up to 400 guests. But don’t worry; you’ll never have to compete with simultaneous events at The Mark because Executive Director, Debbie Ulman and Facility Manager, Lindsay Schwartz host only one event at a time. Lindsay knows the space well and pointed out that she had her own wedding at The Mark. Lindsay jokingly added, “It was an incredible wedding; I gave myself a really good deal!” www.themarkforevents.com
The inspiration of The Drum Café came from Africa where drumming is used to inspire relaxation, breakdown barriers, and bring people together through rhythm. Today, the Drum Cafe does just that through a passionate and entertaining program of global team-building and entertainment that includes motivational speakers, team builders and Africa’s top drummers.
